[THROWBACK] Amazon Rain – B-Complex (DRUM ‘N BASS)

Drum ‘N Bass Throwbacks

“Amazon Rain” is a beautiful track that builds a melodic overtone throughout the song getting stronger and climaxing midway through. If you don’t have time for the lengthy though ear-pleasing build-up that lasts around 4 minutes skip to about the 4:30 mark where the drop crescendos into intense energy. It certainly makes me want to move, and feels great for driving or racing (but leave it to the games, please).

Just about as unique is another deep cut from B-Complex that is just as atmospheric in its melody and complex in its beat structure with haunting vocals is “Broken Windows (feat. ill-esha)”. Check it out below – https://youtu.be/FlXOzqNJkm0

Speaking of good dub/EDM music, check out Twofold’s The Second Phase – EP

Twofold’s EP “The Second Phase” is available on iTunes and Beatport. It can best be described as, “Post-Dubstep”

Twofold shows us what post-dubstep music should sound like, more akin to its Drum ‘N Bass, Dance (almost techno if you will) roots and less bass-centered “wub wub” music (as Borderlands 2 so amusingly put it) on their EP “The Second Phase”.

I bought their EP on Beatport.com after hearing the first single “Skyfire.” Always a fan of vocal dance music this song, struck a chord with me, no pun intended. Also on the EP, “Goliathus” and “Violet” are stand out tracks making Twofold a definite artist to look out for in dance clubs. The final track “Sector 14” goes back to the mainstream dubstep sound, or almost a Heavy Drum ‘N Bass track centered around a “noisy” buildup, climax and breakdown. Nevertheless, for the price, this is a great EP for any EDM fan and for DJs, two of the tracks are already at the mix-friendly 140 BPM. Check ’em out for yourself!

Buy it for $5.99 on Beatport now!

[New Dub/Trap Release] LAXX – Step One

LAXX’s “Step One” was highlighted by EDM website group UKF Dubstep

Step One by LAXX. Source: UKF Dubstep

Checking my YouTube subscriptions I almost reluctantly clicked on a new single shared by the group UKF Dubstep. Mainly because that last word in the groups name, the oft thrown around, and at times despised genre of music that hipsters won’t even give the time of day anymore.

However to my relief, LAXX’s “Step One” is not your everyday Dub track and what’s more, as a long time fan of EDM since before “Dubstep” was “invented,” what does it matter what the hipsters like? Let them have it, right?
