[Dance/Tech House:] Kaskade – Tight (feat. Madge)

Kaskade’s “Tight” featuring Madge blends elements of dance house, tech house and the soft, sultry vocals Kaskade is known for.

[Dance/House:] Tight (feat. Madge) – Kaskade

In the club all night, see the end of the light
And you’re gonna do it right, if you keep it real
Keep it tight

American DJ legend and House producer Kaskade has had a very good year. Doing plenty of tours and appearing at festivals all across the nation, the past few years have definitely been Kaskade’s best for him.

“Tight” featuring songstress Madge conveys the efforts and progress Kaskade has made as an artist. The dance-house tune, with tech-house influences, is reminiscent of old-school Kaskade with soft, sultry vocals but the “drop” and bouncy sounds of this track are definitely “new-school” Kaskade.

At this point, whether an artist is good or validated when they return to, reference or completely abandon their original sound is a debate old as time. Some artists are lauded for never changing, some become bigger than they ever could’ve been before in changing up their sound, and yet others try to straddle a fine line between these two spectrums.

Check out the music video for Kaskade’s “Tight” above, directed by Will Kindrick and produced by Utah-born, but now in L.A. band “Sego.”

[Deep House:] Botnek – Don’t Need U

[Deep House:] Botnek – Don’t Need U

Canadian EDM duo Botnek delivers with solid house tune “Don’t Need U.” A nice classic cut that straddles the line between deep house and house more influenced by bass music. The nu-disco type vibes coupled with the Disclosure sounding vocal disclaiming, “I don’t need you anymore,” set up a nice groovy rhythm. Then the drop comes. Heavy bass, heavy synths and a heavier sound combine to mix the perfect harmony of chill and rage-worthy.
