Canadian EDM duo Botnekdelivers with solid house tune “Don’t Need U.” A nice classic cut that straddles the line between deep house and house more influenced by bass music. The nu-disco type vibes coupled with the Disclosure sounding vocal disclaiming, “I don’t need you anymore,” set up a nice groovy rhythm. Then the drop comes. Heavy bass, heavy synths and a heavier sound combine to mix the perfect harmony of chill and rage-worthy.
Be sure to check out more from Botnek on their Soundcloud as well as Youtube page.
Check out this chill trap track from New Jersey rapper Dougie F. A definite banger for 2016!
[Hip-Hop/Rap] [Real Trap] Dougie F – On Right Now (Produced by Dez Wright)
I’m so faded man, my feet off the ground,
I swear, I’m the man in my town
Everywhere I go they stop and stare me down,
Everywhere I go they stop and stare me down!
Sorry for being a little late posting this as I’ve been busy. New Jersey rapper Dougie F’s “On Right Now,” is a shining example of why we shouldn’t give up on today’s generation of rap. With a heavy trap beat, catchy snares and hooks, and an overall dark, heavy feel, that still comes across as party rap. Impressive.
Also featured are semi-freestyled lyrics that…*gasp actually make sense. Okay, so they might not be Nas or Tech N9ne bars, but Dougie’s realness is certainly perceivable, and far above most current radio rap. If nothing else the song sounds great and you can tell Dougie had a good time recording it; all elements that make up good music.

New Future House from Palastic is a sure fire summer ’16 anthem, combining elements of bass and chill.

Just in time for the spring/summer like weather (at least in the ATL), comes a fresh new Future-House track with plenty of bass, futuristic synths and female vocals reminiscent of Lana Del Rey, Rozes, or Wild Belle and the like. “Side Note” featuring LissA is a smooth ride into chilled out female vocals, that soon ramps up into the futuristic synth chords. What makes it shine above your average future-house track however is the high-quality vocals, as well as a moving, eargasmic melody played in the background (like by the piano/horns). This song is great for bumping in the whip or at home while melting into its hodge-podge of EDM’s pop side with Future House’s crescendoing melodies.
You can buy the song on iTunes here: Side Note (feat. LissA) – Palastic
We’ve got two eclectic EDM highlights today coming from some very talented artists.
Our first selection is an amazing future-lounge remix (think music played in posh waiting rooms in 2025), of Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding’s monumental classic “Outside” remixed by Anevo. Anevo’s take on the song adds additional layers of chill, Ellie’s smooth vocals, calming “beach-song” guitar chords create a perfect combination of dance music elements. The result is a “future-banger” ready for downtempo clubs, and waiting rooms (heh, couldn’t help) across the world.
Also check out another smash-remix of Anevo, his cut of one of my favorite new electronic groups, Years & Years, “King (Anevo Remix)”
[Festival Anthem House-Trance] Eric Prydz – Opus (Original Mix)
Eric Prydz has been a staple EDM artist/DJ/producer since before the term “EDM” even existed. Having released music under numerous aliases, such as Pryda (also the name of an iconic album Prydz released in 2012). “Opus” is the culmination of the evolution of electronic, house music, and dance festival anthems. The Original Mix of the song has a lengthy build-up which peaks with a “drop” further cementing a sound reminiscent of Daft Punk or deadmau5. Throwback to this incredibly catchy moombahton track with mesmerizing amounts of bass and sampled Patois-sounding vocals repeating over and over. EDM artists, AggroKids (the combined effort of David Heartbreak & Rell the Soundbender) “Killa” has a sick, filthy bass-line that runs throughout creating a guaranteed club/floor-filler. Killa is certainly one of the better tracks of the Moombahton Forever, a latin-heavy electronic mixtape full of baile music and bass.
You can find more on AggroKids on these social media websites and download “Killa” from their Souncloud.
