BROHUG does it yet again with their latest track, “In My Hand,” a satisfying blend of Disco house like vocals with their signature bass house sound.
The DJ trio seems to almost come up with unique ways to present their tunes and even drops that sounds the same still come across completely different. Not an easy accomplishment. BROHUG songs always energize, are face-melting or just plain raw in the best possible ways.

[Chill House:] Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out (Dave Winnel Remix)
Probably THE best remix of “Stressed Out” I’ve ever heard. I’m also a very big fan of the Andrew Lundeen remix, but Dave Winnel’s is far more remarkable. I could never hate on a remix of this song that repeats my favorite pre-chorus “My name’s Blurryface / And I, care what you think.” Be sure to check out both remixes if you’re a fan of the original!

Popular UK pop band and the girls behind the second highest meme in views on my Youtube channel, Little Mix is one of the most popular pop groups in the world (as far as English music goes). Lorca & Jamie put the song “Touch” into heavenly dance-house status in their uplifting and epic remix. Pure house synths, nice effects and a pounding dancefloor-ready beat make this remix fresh, hot, you know, all that good shit.
Any song that can both make me feel nostalgic or that essence of pure pop music (the original, or think N*SYNC, Britney Spears in the 90s) and combine it with elements of today’s music is automatically a favorite in my book. Don’t miss this great remix!

[Electronic, Reggae & Dance] Run Up (feat. PARTYNEXTDOOR & Nicki Minaj)
It’s 2017, and continuing from the previous year there is no shortage of mainstream artists collaborating with EDM DJ’s and producers changing the face of the electronic genre altogether. Artists that one would’ve never thought would be on electronic tracks are now commonplace, and that’s the case with Major Lazer’s new song “Run Up” featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR and Nicki Minaj.
Combining Major Lazer’s signature “reggae” sound, electronic/bass rhythms and a catchy beat, the tune is a lighthearted track for the winter season. While there are no big drops or shift-changing elements that take the song to the all-the-way-turnt level, it’s still an enjoyable listen. Nicki Minaj sounds best having the last verse to herself, keeping her more as “an addition” to the song as opposed to the focus, smart move on Major Lazer’s part. What do you think about this song and about Minaj’s feature?
[Update:] Apparently a music video shot in Trinidad & Tobago is expected to drop for this song relatively soon (as of Feb. 2, 2017).

Next up, Snakehips dance-house affair, “Don’t Leave” featuring MØ brings high-energy and atmospheric vocals; ones that only the voice behind Major Lazer’s “Lean On” could bring. Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane are tearing up the charts around the country with their feel good rockstar anthem “Black Beatles.” Though the song has been out since October (the track enjoyed early spins as part of a mix on ATL’s HOT 107.9 FM), it seems many people are just now finding out about the song. Streetz 94.5 FM announced the song had made the top 3 on the charts a few days ago, many after it’s competitor HOT 107.9.
Coming across exactly as the title states, “Black Beatles” is a feel-good rock rap anthem from two very urban rappers. The clash of genres certainly creates a certain amount of rock flair that shines through in the excellent chorus, mesmerizing beat and carefully chosen lyrics. Gucci Mane rounds out the track with some of his first verses since his release. They aren’t exactly GOAT Gucci, but they don’t detract from the overall feel of the song either. If you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and check out this track. You can also check out Rae Sremmurd’s latest album “Sremmlife 2” and Gucci Mane’s recent “Woptober.”
[Hip-Hop/Rap:] Miles Meraki – My Phone (w/Kasey Jones)
Over a spacey-epic beat, the hard hitting “My Phone” from Miles Meraki is an energy-producing, yet mellow song strangely appropriate for the turn-up and the turn-down. The ghastly sounding synths coupled with the powerful, bumping bass create a shoulder and head bouncing under-the-radar trap-hit. Featuring backup from rapper Kasey Jones the two channel vibes of mainstream rappers, without all the mainstream cheesiness. Definitely worth checking out.

If you haven’t heard of marshmello yet and consider yourself an EDM fan you have got some serious life choices to re-evaluate. Taking the genre by storm since his arrival, he considers his music “deep fluffy sexy trap house” according to his Facebook. He is indeed correct in that marshmello‘s tracks successfully combine elements of house, trap and even older styles of dance music to create truly epic tracks. One of his older tracks “Find Me” was on a mix CD I left in my mother’s car about 4-6 months ago and she still bumps it to this day! Check it out below and a different style of futuristic EDM on the next page.
