[Electronic:] Passion Pit – Sleepyhead (JAUZ Remix)

JAUZ delivers a satisfyingly hip remix of Passion Pit’s most popular song, “Sleepyhead.”

[Dance/Post-Dubstep] Paradise (ft. Bright Lights) [Sam F Remix] – Laidback Luke & Made in June

Before this post I have some housekeeping news; I actually meant to post this song quite awhile ago, alas my blog has been slightly neglected due to my busy schedule.

As I finish up school I promise to get back regular (and I’m even planning on expanding back into Hip-Hop / Atlanta local music, so lemme know what you think about that!).

Paradise (ft. Bright Lights) [Sam F Remix]Laidback Luke & Maid in June

I haven’t heard a lot of Bright Lights’ music before but they are always headlining festivals and their name is everywhere these days. Featured in this song with Laidback Luke (whom I am learning more about as my recent fondness for BROHUG develops) and Made in June, the pair have a pretty chill dance number with “Paradise.”

The Sam F Remix only ups the intensity and adds entrancing synth chords along a “not quite dubstep” drop. Sam F, if this is the same guy, was also the resident DJ who did the music for the DJing episode of “American Dad,” which was absolutely hilarious.

Regardless the track is fulfilling and not too over the top. You can dance and sway to it (as opposed to mobbing/moshing like much of EDM’s “bro” type genres) and meld away to it’s futuristic chill vibes.

[Smooth House/Classy Disco:] Kraak & Smaak – Alone With You [ft. Cleopold] (Purple Disco Machine Remix)

[House:] Kraak & Smaak – Alone With You [ft. Cleopold] (Purple Disco Machine Remix)

When you hold me back, the look your eyes
You could read my mind…

One of the smoothest house songs I have heard in a great while. The Purple Disco Machine remix of Kraak & Smaak’s “Alone With You” is absolutely amazing. Elements of Daft Punk intertwine with fresh, authentic disco-house vibes. The result is a sophisticated, sexy house number capable of chilling out the whole room, while still leaving you dancing.

[Future House/Club Hit:] Tchami – Godspell (feat. Taiki Nulight)

Future House legends Tchami and Taiki Nulight come together in an epic club banger, “Godspeed”

[Future House:] Tchami – Godspell (feat. Taiki Nulight)

I’m the one and only dominator

As soon as I saw Tchami and Taiki Nulight, I clicked as fast as my god-damn mouse could. I didn’t need to be told an epic track would ensue.

Hit Future House DJ, Tchami has been dropping several new songs, part of his Revelations – EP. He lays down an absolute club banger with fellow house legend Taiki Nulight with “Godspell.”

Filtered vocal samples, bass waves deep enough to break your coffee table and futuristic synths create a truly godly track. The introduction leading to the first drop and even the outro make excellent transitory songs for those who DJ.

Check out “Godspeed” above and more from both artists below.

[Commercials with Great Music] [Electronic/Bass:] Men$a – Nothing Like This (feat. Love Lola Love) // Sofi Tukker – Awoo (feat. Betta Lemme)

Check out these two great tracks I found thanks to Old Navy’s commercials. Great work by their marketing team!

[Electronic & Bass:] Men$a – Nothing Like This (feat. Love Lola Love)

You never seen nothing, like this………DEM NEVA SEEN NOTHING LIKE DIS

Today’s featured track is EDM producer and DJ Men$a’s “Nothing Like This.” The song is a high-energy dance number that features heavy bass over a fairly fast BPM. Reggae dancehall samples, “Dem neva seen nothing like dis,” mix very well with the British-accented Love Lola Love‘s vocals. Her style on this track is very reminiscent of Santigold or M.I.A. The synth-break/drop is not entirely unpredictable, however the track is funky and very different nonetheless. I had heard of Men$a before but never checked out his music, if this is an indicator of his tracks I will be listening to much more Men$a from now on 🙂

Men$a’s “Nothing Like This” featured in the latest Old Navy commerical (as of mid-August 2017)

The song, released 6 days ago is featured in a new Old Navy commercial that was released 3 days ago. This likely means the song was made in conjunction with the commercial (to be released/used by Old Navy very quickly) or was made for the commercial. Typically songs made just for commercials are not released to the public (ex: Arby’s “Triple Thick Trap Remix”, most of Scion’s commercial music, etc.) The only exception’s have been songs so popular in commercials the original artist ending up having to release it or extend it (that trap number that was in Mountain Dew’s “Puppy Monkey Baby” campaign with the dancing Asian guy, ended up actually being released.)

Old Navy had another commercial this summer with some banger music. Their “Hi-Light” commercial featuring a bunch of friends hopping out of their cars at a red light and dancing til the light turns green had some notable music. Sofi Tukker’s “Awoo” was featured in the ad and is quite the spicy latin-flavored pop number itself. Be sure to check it out.

I know, I did, not raise a wrist
I know, I did, not capture it
It came (it came), it went (it went), it conquered quick
I was there, and then, I quit…

[Chilling Out] [Chill House:] Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out (Dave Winnel Remix) // [Dance-House:] Little Mix – Touch (Lorca x Jamie Remix)

Lorca & Jamie deliver an uplifting and epic remix of Little Mix’s “Touch” that’s too good to miss.

[Chill House:] Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out (Dave Winnel Remix)

Probably THE best remix of “Stressed Out” I’ve ever heard. I’m also a very big fan of the Andrew Lundeen remix, but Dave Winnel’s is far more remarkable. I could never hate on a remix of this song that repeats my favorite pre-chorus “My name’s Blurryface / And I, care what you think.” Be sure to check out both remixes if you’re a fan of the original!

[Chill House] [2016 Throwback:] Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out (Andrew Lundeen Remix)

Popular UK pop band and the girls behind the second highest meme in views on my Youtube channel, Little Mix is one of the most popular pop groups in the world (as far as English music goes). Lorca & Jamie put the song “Touch” into heavenly dance-house status in their uplifting and epic remix. Pure house synths, nice effects and a pounding dancefloor-ready beat make this remix fresh, hot, you know, all that good shit.

Any song that can both make me feel nostalgic or that essence of pure pop music (the original, or think N*SYNC, Britney Spears in the 90s) and combine it with elements of today’s music is automatically a favorite in my book. Don’t miss this great remix!

[Hip-Hop/Rap:] Nav & Metro Boomin’ – Perfect Timing

Rapper NAV collaborates with hit producer Metro Boomin’ in “Perfect Timing.”

[Hip-Hop/Rap:] NAV & Metro Boomin’ – Perfect Timing

Perfect Timing – NAV & Metro Boomin’

By now you’ve probably heard NAV’s music. Whether you realized it or not the rapper has made quite a name for himself in 2017. Featured on the hit Travis Scott single “Beibs in the Trap” NAV has seen his media coverage balloon with the help of friends like The Weeknd and Kylie Jenner. Canadian-born, the Punjabi MC has been making waves throughout the year and has also been featured on more and more tracks, while also releasing mixtapes and an album. Don’t miss out on his collaboration with Metro Boomin’ in “Perfect Timing.”
