I’m a big fan of drum and bass (d&b), so I was already vibing when Youtube Music shuffled to the high energy laden cut “Words” by Monstercat regular Feint. This 2016 release opens with powerful drums, oriental-like ambient synths and violins with vocal blessings from songstress Laura Brehm.
The buildup and interludes are closer to a faster dance BPM than traditional d&b, providing the perfect amount of head nodding rhythm. The track’s melodic flows make me slightly classify it towards the liquid d&b subgenre. This one stayed on repeat for me in the gym and it always hyped me up. Every. Single. Time.
