Sorry I’m a little late on this post but a week or so ago Big Sean released a new single titled “I Don’t F*ck With You” which has been getting major play on Atlanta radio stations. With production from DJ Mustard with his signature EDM-like synths, hand claps and snaps, and a slick sample of DJ Roger’s “Say You Love Me” which word has it Kanye (and possibly DJ Dahi) added to polish off the track.
The ending segues into a fleshed out version of Kanye’s sample with soulful singing in the background and a turn to more positive and uplifting verses from Sean, as opposed to the straight-up dissing and trash-talking the main part of the song embellishes. Many say he wrote this out of spite of Naya Riviera, but we’ll never know…
Best Youtube comment: “I hope he give a f*ck about getting Ariana Grande home before her curfew”
Internet, please, STAHP!! Deaded.
Quotable verse: “I mean for real, f*ck how you feel. F*ck your two cents if it ain’t goin’ ‘twards the bill!“
Two of my favorite artists, Baauer and AlunaGeorge (whom I’ve blogged about before) collab together to bring us “One Touch” with additional support from up-and-comer Rae Sremmurd (of “No Flex Zone”, and “No Type” fame). Baauer’s smooth sultry beats meld perfectly with Aluna’s beautiful vocals, and Rae Sremmurd also seems at home on this track while making Dragon Ball Z references and the like…
Atlanta artist Young Thug has been everywhere lately after his single “Danny Glover” which had an explosive remix featuring Nicki Minaj has been taking over airwaves in Atlanta. The latest track he is featured on now has a video, T.I.’s “About The Money.” Young Thug can be found making his distinctive…uh, we’ll call them signature “ad-libs” in between T.I.’s raps (Young Thug: AI! BOOM! // Turn up, a what they say AAH! // A n*gga boom what!!) and telling us how hard he flosses riding with gators, AND, his shoes are Giuseppe. got damn. For a sudden rapper to appear on the scene it seems Young Thug is doing pretty good for himself…time will tell if he will move past being a couple-hit wonder and become a staple of Southern music.
I heard this single on the radio the other day in Atlanta, where stations have begun spinning female songstress Tinashe’s latest single, “2 On” and now there is a remix featuring Drake who raps and changes up the flow of the song when he comes in.
Claiming he has “always been on/I’ve always been too on” implying he has long been the “shit.” The remix while interesting has a much different vibe to it than the original, alas I’m still happy to see it and to see Tinashe getting recognition and airplay here in Atlanta.
While DJs have had remixes (mostly electronic) of “2 On” for awhile now (I highlighted one by Wax Motif as well as the original song when it released a few months ago) this is the first “hip-hop” or radio remix of the original to come out.
For a completely different, but refreshing take on the song with a very EDM/IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) vibe check out the TOKiMONSTA remix of the song -> here.
Wax Motif’s remix of the song which released around the time the song came out puts a house/dance vibe to the song. You can listen to it -> here.
We’ve got some new house music for the summer coming from Hunter Siegel featured today! Chopped up female vocals accompany the synth and bass lines of this track, dubbed “Future House” by Siegel. Mixing 90’s house sounds with futuristic rhythms, “Waiting Game” will fit right inti DJs’ playlists at dance clubs and discothèques.
The single is a relaxing break from some of the more “hardcore”, sensory overload inducing sounds of dubstep, hard electro/house, and trap/bass music proliferating the scene!
Give “Waiting Game (Original Mix)” a listen and download it for free!

Another great deep-house track comes to us from San Francisco DJ, MyKill. On “Without Time” MyKill collaborated with producer Keith Walker to create a beautiful, uplifting track combining house and trance melodies partnered with saxophone riffs and distorted vocoder vocals. The end result is an incredibly emotive track producing a high and sentiments of West Coast beach life (or beach life anywhere). While “Without Time” plays it is not difficult at all to imagine oneself drifting through space or lounging on the beach at a music festival on an island. Very transcendental…
This remix of My Way by the duo DJ group Hotel Garuda is just the track that’s needed for this upcoming summer. Sultry vocals over layers of house synths, bass and an uptempo beat comprise this gem. Hotel Garuda does what they seem to do best; create calming, atmospheric and smooth tracks that one can feel the good vibes flowing in their music.
