Airia’s spacey, mellowed outflip of Trey Songz’ crossover R&B smash-hit “Slow Motion” is a great addition to anyone’s catalog. A perfectly agreeable mélange of soft pianos, synths and melodies put an even more refreshing aural ambience compared to the original. This absolutely trippy yet trappy chill future-bass track comes to us today from Toronto based EDM producer, the25thHr. “Zeal (Original Mix)” is a mellow ride-out tune with soulful sultry vocals layered between atmospheric melodies and far-out synth sounds. The result is a chilled-out futuristic banger with plenty of bass and future sounds to compliment any mix, set or dancefloor.
[Chilled Out Ambient/Hip-Hop Trap:] Drake – Ain’t No Frontiers (feat. Stwo) [MWTM Mash-Up]
Monsters With Tiny Mustaches brings us another chill-hitin their re-make/mash-up of Drake featuring Stwo in “Ain’t No Frontiers”; a mash-up of Drake’s “No Tellin” & Stwo’s “Frontiers”.
Adding layers of chill and ambient relaxed sound to the original and some trappy snares to further mellow out, yet also make the track more vibrant and lively. This smooth ambient track should fit right in to any music lover’s library, DJ set for a slower cut to round out the night or as a track for intimate occasions.
Got an absolutely funky remix of Major Lazer’s “Too Original” for you today. Brazilian EDM artist and DJ Sydney Søüsa combines elements of funk, latin, moombahton and future bass to create a body-moving banger ready for clubs and dancehalls. EDM producer/group Autograf was lucky enough to be honored by being called upon by alternative rock/trip-hop group Fatboy Slim to remix their single “Mad Flava“. Putting an absolutely amazing future feel to the song, I almost didn’t know what to coin this genre of music. Maybe all these Future modifiers (in front of House, Trap, Dance, whatever) should just all be condensed into FUTURE. That begs the question, what will we call it when it is the future, say in 20 years?

This is probably the second remix of Avril Lavigne song that I actually like, and this will take first for the best (in my opinion) as the general feel of this awesome, beat-building progressive house remix of “Alice” from EDM producer Michael Conway is much more widely applicable to any situation; compared to the eurobeat-ish, happy hardcore sound prominent in the Revo-luution remix and Nightcore’s take on that same remix (below):

Trance: Down on Love – Ferry Corsten
Finally, last but no way in flaming hell, least. Is smash trance-track “Down on Love” from Dutch trance, EDM DJ and artist Ferry Corsten. Well known for working with and remixing tunes from the likes of DJ Tiesto, Above & Beyond and more Corsten has been a signature name on the scene since the early to mid-2000s (much like Kaskade, Benny Benassi and several other DJs who “came up” during this time period).
Released back in 2006, I was a high school junior when Corsten’s second studio album dropped. I copped it of course, during a time where the cashier at Best Buy looked at my funny, or as if I was crazy, this black teenager buying EPs from BT (Emotional Technology) or the even more rare, obscure and EDM foundation builder, Norweigan group, Röyksopp’s The Understanding. Below you’ll find two standout singles from BT and Röyksopp and two more deeper cuts.

This Remix Feature is on one of my favorite singles from California-based R&B songstress and dancer, Tinashe. “2 On” featuring Schoolboy Q is considered by many to be her break-out single that put her into the mainstream. I highlighted the song when it was first released, Drake’s “remix”, and the [at the time] a few select listenable EDM remixes shortly after it’s release. Chiefly, Wax Motif’sfloor-filling dance remix, and TOKiMONSTA’s classy, seductive remix, which some fans very expertly choreographed in the link below.
By far two of the best remixes of Tinashe’s top 40/radio debut are by Jersey house DJ and producer, DJ Irresistible (check out another nice Jersey House remix here from DJ Poppa Dubb). Of note also is the Future House andalternative remakes by LUCA LUSH and DJ Q respectively.
We’ve got two new Futureclassics for you today from EDM artists, DJs and producer Cash Fargo along with Class-X.
Our first is Los Angeles producer, Fargo’s “Undo Your Love“, atransfixing smooth blend of house-y male vocals, much akin to Disclosure or Tchami, but with that indie, fresh, hipster feel (and I mean that in the best way possible). If songs like this are indicative of Cash Fargo’s work and overall sound, it’s safe to say we can expect him to be a rising name in the alternative EDM scene, slated to appear at alternative EDM venues and festivals (if he is not already).
If you’re looking for something a bit trappier Fargo’sremix of Future’s “Covered ‘N Money” is great as well (see below:)
Next up (link below) is the chillwave progressive-house mélange of sounds in Netherlands DJ, Class-X’s “Away“. With simply beautiful, relaxing piano arpeggios and a back-beat with elements grounded in house, but flirting between the lines of sounds more characteristic of Trance. Got some new future music for everybody out there. First we are highlighting the simply dreamy, serotonin-inducing aural roller-coaster ride that is “Sparagus” coming from EDM artists Mikos Da Gawd with help from Tito Tunes. Let your mind go for a ride as you mellow out to this future chillwave track.
Next up is an amazingly chill re-work of popular rap/trap hit “Bandz A Make Her Dance” originally by Juicy J. For this incredibly chill remix we highlight EDM artists KDS who has turned the trap banger anthem into a relaxed afternoon, bass-heavy future wave single. Chill is an understatement here and the use and variety of samples used is refreshing. Don’t sleep on this! Thumbs up all around here!!
