Eric Prydz is a well known name in the EDM sphere, mainly for his house and trance music, much of it released under his pseudo-nym Pryda. Prydz is known for powerful deep-house tracks, featured all throughout the album Pryda, some of which I have featured in some of my sets. Check out the Ark remix of his song “Generate” above.
K. Camp – Lil’ Bit (no sleep Remix)
The next remix is a great chill/trap remix of Atlanta rapper K. Camp’s “Lil’ Bit.” EDM artist no sleep adds a very nice ambient, psychedelic vibe to the original rap track and makes it a much smoother ride without compromising its hardness. Check it out above.
We’ve got two new Futureclassics for you today from EDM artists, DJs and producer Cash Fargo along with Class-X.
Our first is Los Angeles producer, Fargo’s “Undo Your Love“, atransfixing smooth blend of house-y male vocals, much akin to Disclosure or Tchami, but with that indie, fresh, hipster feel (and I mean that in the best way possible). If songs like this are indicative of Cash Fargo’s work and overall sound, it’s safe to say we can expect him to be a rising name in the alternative EDM scene, slated to appear at alternative EDM venues and festivals (if he is not already).
If you’re looking for something a bit trappier Fargo’sremix of Future’s “Covered ‘N Money” is great as well (see below:)
Next up (link below) is the chillwave progressive-house mélange of sounds in Netherlands DJ, Class-X’s “Away“. With simply beautiful, relaxing piano arpeggios and a back-beat with elements grounded in house, but flirting between the lines of sounds more characteristic of Trance. For this honorary first “Hip-Hop Origins” we highlight “Do It With No Hands.” My Atlanta folk may remember this well-known local trap banger, born out of the “snap music” crazed era of the mid 2000s in Georgia. This song, and many others like it [See Maceo: Nextel Chirp, remember Crime Mob?] released around 2002 through 2008 were the forefathers of the Trap EDM genre. The trap-style beats and the lyrics that usually talk about…well, trapping and the hood highlighted a time when ATL and Southern Hip-Hop were on fire and highly sought after to produce the next hit. Don’t get me wrong, Atlanta is still the premiere ground for hip-hop, rap music and breakout music artists (and now actors as well), however the magic that surrounded the city and rap’s mentality here has changed since those days.
Our second is a rare remix of Outkast’s “Jazzybelle” originally released in 2006. Outkast is well-known as one of the groups that put Atlanta on the map in terms of music as a whole. As such they are widely acknowledged and celebrated by Atlantans and worldwide. Fans of the group were overjoyed when Outkast returned to the stage and began touring in 2014.

Today’s throwback is on West Coast rapper Khadafi Dub and his quite good freestyle over TNGHT’s “Higher Ground.” The original tune featured has been a big hit ever since TNGHT, the collaboration of EDM artists Hudson Mohawke and Lunice dropped it in 2012.
Khadafi Dub may not have the best lyrical skills in the game, but he has worked hard at his craft and worked even harder at finding unique, interesting beats to rap over; many EDM tracks as well as house and dubstep, and he was one of the first rappers to do it. Our second track is another throwback, this one I discovered during my high school days. Released in 2005, “When The Dawn Breaks” by Narcotic Thrust was one of the first progressive house tunes I ever got into. The original and the Cicada remix do not disappoint! Smooth vocals layered over calming house synth sounds compose this little-known trance sleeper gem.
The very funk inspired “Gud Vibrations” is quite a nice blend of trap and house sounds coming from the collaborative mind of EDM producers, NGHTMRE & Slander.
Next we have two incredible remixes of EDM artist Zhu’s “Faded.” The first comes from the remarkably talented EDM producer Enda who certainly injects a heavenly atmospheric vibe into the original. The result is an instantly chilling, instantly soothing ambient track to chill and vibe out to.
Another rising name in the EDM scene, Lido, also remixed “Faded” with a much more trappy, but still chill feel. This comparably slower version fits more in lounge type scenarios then in a dancehall or club but is still very moving. Check out both remixes and more from their artists above in the links. Another simply epic track out of the collective EDM group MVNGCSTL (Moving Castle), future house (or as described on a Youtube comment: advanced epic) hit “Make Out” by EDM artists Ba-kuura and Objectives. This smooth, chilled-out dance, R&B, house smasher samples Alicia Keys’ “Unthinkable (I’m Ready).” Many in the EDM community may recognize this sample from another smash house hit, “Stay” by Henry Krinkle or one of its many remixes.
Next up is trap banger “Soundclash” from two trap gods themselves’, Flosstradamus and TroyBoi. This collabo works particularly well here producing a spacey, trap banger incorporating trappy snares & hi-hats and some well known samples (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 DO IT! & the robotic letter vocals at the end). Both artists are well established in their own right; Flosstradamus being one of the artists that pioneered EDM trap music, and TroyBoi, a burgeoning British trap DJ on the come up in the EDM scene (one of his tracks was recently featured on the hit TV show Empire!)

Classic, possibly one of Floss’ most iconic, influential tracks “Test Me” with DJ Sliiink
From rising rap star Fetty Wap, the mastermind behind “Trap Queen,” which is blowing up all over America and abroad (I said “Hey, wassup? Hello!!” / Seent [sic] yo pretty ass soon as you walked in the doe’ [sic]) today we are highlighting another track from Fetty’s mixtape/EP Up Next. Standout track “Throw It Back” featuring rapper Khaos continues the vibe from Trap Queen, although less of an anthem and more a regular cut, it’s still great nonetheless. There has been some debate on the Internet as to Fetty Wap’s sound, which some find very reminiscent of Southern hip-hop and rap styles, even though Wap is from New Jersey. There is no doubt that Southern rap has influenced the hip-hop game as a whole and IS a sought-after sound for musicians, most rappers will have at least a few tracks in this style, even if they’re not from there.
Chief Keef & Andy Milonakis “Hot Shit”
Next up, we have two rap tracks featuring the famous actor, Andy Milonakis, who is featured on Gucci Mane‘s Views From Zone 6 mixtape and Chief Keef‘s Sorry 4 The Weight. Getting backing from Gucci and Keef on the former track, and just Keef on the latter, Milonakis spits the ending verses on both and in Keef’s songs claims Keef’s group, GLO Gang. Both tracks are trap hip-hop singles for bumpin’ in the whip or throughout the streets. This is by far, not the first time Milonakis has rapped (whether for fun or officially on an official release), he was known to rap on his former TV show on MTV, The Andy Milonakis Show, where he played a crazy, yet cool young boy (Milonakis is actually in late adulthood).
