Gryffin & Hotel Garuda collab remix of BANKS’ “Beggin’ For Thread”

Electronic artist Gryffin collaborates with House/EDM DJ Hotel Garuda for this dance remix of EDM legend BANKS’ “Beggin’ For Thread.” Sultry female vocals accompany a “beach-like” sound with waves of blissful melodies. Edited vocals comprise the backbeat of the song and result in a very calming track.

Dub Electro House Remix: Animals (Gryffin Remix) – Maroon 5

One of the better remixes of a mainstream artist to come down the pipeline in the EDM world, Gryffin’s remix of Maroon 5’s “Animals” adds a progressive electro vibe to the original. With a slow, smooth tempo that gradually adds increasing layers of electronic sounds this track feels right at home among other house and dance hits.

[Summer House] Without Time – MyKill & Walker

Another great deep-house track comes to us from San Francisco DJ, MyKill. On “Without Time” MyKill collaborated with producer Keith Walker to create a beautiful, uplifting track combining house and trance melodies partnered with saxophone riffs and distorted vocoder vocals. The end result is an incredibly emotive track producing a high and sentiments of West Coast beach life (or beach life anywhere). While “Without Time” plays it is not difficult at all to imagine oneself drifting through space or lounging on the beach at a music festival on an island. Very transcendental…

[THROWBACK] Amazon Rain – B-Complex (DRUM ‘N BASS)

http://youtu.be/lxkZjs8aVuo Throwback to a great Drum ‘N Bass track I discovered about a year ago to beat this icy weather. “Amazon Rain” is a beautiful track that builds a melodic overtone throughout the song getting stronger and climaxing midway through. If you don’t have time for the lengthy though ear-pleasing building that lasts around 4 minutes skip to about the 4:30 mark. The vibe of the song will get you moving, or make you feel like you should be moving (great for racing…games, don’t race to this track, especially not in this weather!) If you’d like to hear another jam from B-Complex that is just as atmospheric in its melody and complex in its beat (and even features female vocals!) check out “Broken Windows (feat. ill-esha)” – http://youtu.be/NGQYq0E3Xzs

[New Dub/Trap Release] LAXX – Step One

LAXX’s “Step One” was highlighted by EDM website group UKF Dubstep

Step One by LAXX. Source: UKF Dubstep

Checking my YouTube subscriptions I almost reluctantly clicked on a new single shared by the group UKF Dubstep. Mainly because that last word in the groups name, the oft thrown around, and at times despised genre of music that hipsters won’t even give the time of day anymore.

However to my relief, LAXX’s “Step One” is not your everyday Dub track and what’s more, as a long time fan of EDM since before “Dubstep” was “invented,” what does it matter what the hipsters like? Let them have it, right?
