[New Music] [Future House/Electronic] Palastic – Side Note (feat. LissA)

New Future House from Palastic is a sure fire summer ’16 anthem, combining elements of bass and chill.

[Songs from Youtube, Courtesy of “La Belle Musique” Group]

Just in time for the spring/summer like weather (at least in the ATL), comes a fresh new Future-House track with plenty of bass, futuristic synths and female vocals reminiscent of Lana Del Rey, Rozes, or Wild Belle and the like. “Side Note” featuring LissA is a smooth ride into chilled out female vocals, that soon ramps up into the futuristic synth chords. What makes it shine above your average future-house track however is the high-quality vocals, as well as a moving, eargasmic melody played in the background (like by the piano/horns). This song is great for bumping in the whip or at home while melting into its hodge-podge of EDM’s pop side with Future House’s crescendoing melodies.

[EDM Origins: Trance House] [Throwbacks] // [Hard Trance / House] Future Breeze – Second Chance // [Ambient Trance/House] Michelle Williams – We Break the Dawn (Karmatronic Remix)

This EDM Origins post focuses on some of the early trance and progressive house sounds responsible for today’s EDM with a sick remix of Michelle Williams by Karmatronic

[Hard House/Anthem Trance]
Future Breeze – Second Life (Club Mix)

For Our EDM Origins of today we have two very influential and treasured songs from my music library. Both released during the forefront of EDM’s emergence into American culture during the ripe year of 2008. Our first selection “Second Life (Club Mix” by Future Breeze is a highly slept on, heavy bass-synth trance track I happened to stumble across on iTunes one day.

[Spoiler:] For the young and restless skip ahead to the 3:01 mark for the epic drop. The song continually builds over futuristic synths that were likely foundations for the Future House and Synth House we have today. After a nice little intro the music cuts. Slowly but surely a tiny synth chord begins, growing louder, until the epic drop that rides out for the rest of song. Trance lovers will not be disappointed.

[Ambient Trance/House]
Michelle Williams – We Break the Dawn (Karmatronic Video Remix)

Next up, how can we forget Karmatronic’s magnificent remix of Michelle Williams “We Break the Dawn”. Turning the song into a groovy, downtempo and danceable house track. This remix stands out to me today the same way it did when I purchased it solely off its 30 sec. preview back in 2008. It’s one of a growing minority of older songs I still keep in 8000+ library. I guess it’s the overall natural feel of the melodies blending into something smooth and harmonic without losing the original’s identity. A welcome change from a time awash with similar “remixes” of pop music and Top-40 hits that populated dance charts throughout the early to mid-2000s.

This remix is a great song for riding, relaxing, getting things done, or just to find your own little groovy moment in it.

Cheers.

New iLLUMiИUS mixes feature Fetty Wap, Major Lazer & sick remixes of Drake, Wiz.

[Club EDM, Dance & Trap DJ Mix]
Syncopation Vol. 1

[Hip-Hop/Rap DJ Mix]
Put In Werk 2015

Fresh for your listening ears are two brand mixes I’ve recorded in the past few months that I had laying around and finally got around to finishing/cleaning up. “Syncopation” and “Put In Werk” are “preview” mixes of series to come further down the pipeline, with the former being newer and featuring club style EDM.

The latter, a mix of solely hip-hop and rap music, with a little ‘chill trap’ for added flavor. “Put In Werk” is heavy with Fetty Wap appearances and is capped off by one of the sickest Drake remixes I’ve ever heard (Ain’t No Tellin’ remixed by stwo).

For now, you can download these mixes (and many others!) for FREE straight from my Soundcloud.

[Eclectic EDM Series:] [Future Lounge] Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding – Outside (Anevo Remix) // [Anthem Dance Music] Eric Prydz – Opus (Original Mix)

Check out these Future-House hits from Ellie Goulding, Calvin Harris, Eric Prydz & more.

[Future House / Lounge]
Calvin Harris (feat. Ellie Goulding) – Outside (Anevo Remix)

We’ve got two eclectic EDM highlights today coming from some very talented artists.
Our first selection is an amazing future-lounge remix (think music played in posh waiting rooms in 2025), of Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding’s monumental classic “Outside” remixed by Anevo. Anevo’s take on the song adds additional layers of chill, Ellie’s smooth vocals, calmingbeach-song” guitar chords create a perfect combination of dance music elements. The result is a “future-banger” ready for downtempo clubs, and waiting rooms (heh, couldn’t help) across the world.

Also check out another smash-remix of Anevo, his cut of one of my favorite new electronic groups, Years & Years, “King (Anevo Remix)”

[Festival Anthem House-Trance] Eric Prydz – Opus (Original Mix)

Eric Prydz has been a staple EDM artist/DJ/producer since before the term “EDM” even existed. Having released music under numerous aliases, such as Pryda (also the name of an iconic album Prydz released in 2012). “Opus” is the culmination of the evolution of electronic, house music, and dance festival anthems. The Original Mix of the song has a lengthy build-up which peaks with a “drop” further cementing a sound reminiscent of Daft Punk or deadmau5. [Future Festival Chill:] Morgan Page – Fight For You (Beltek Remix), Mash-Ups & Remixes

[Dance/House:] Morgan Page – Fight For You (Beltek Remix)

I fight for you,
I didn’t wanna have to raise my voice…
I’m right for you,
You really leave me with no choice…

Morgan Page’s “Fight For You” is already epic enough in it’s original form, with the incredibly festival-ready mash-up take on Page’s own “Fight For You,” combined with Nima Nesta’s “Derby” in “Derby Fight“. or the deep ambient, Sultan & Shepard Remix or the dubstep-heavy Culture Code Remix. The Beltek Remix is another great, mixable remix emphasizing the heavy atmospheric basslines and melodies inherent in the popular song. Having been remixed six ways to Sunday there is a remix in probably at least one genre that any person alive would enjoy. Check some of them out below:

[EDM ORIGINS: THROWBACK] | [AmbientStep/Chill:] Coldplay – Speed of Sound (C-64 Radio Edit)

Speed of Sound (C-64 Remix) – Coldplay

Today’s EDM throwback is a chillstep remix of Coldplay’s classic “Speed of Sound” perfect for the changing cool weather as we transition into fall. C64’s remix opens with chilling, beat-building repetitions of the “all that noise, all that sound” stanza before jumping into the familiar 2005 smash-hit. Originally from the band’s highly-successful album, X&Y, this chill-ambient remix well does the original justice.
